Job summary

Deckers Brands is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect to lead the DTC and AI architecture strategy, shaping a composable, modern, cloud-based ecosystem across brands and regions.

You will own governance, roadmaps, and the target architecture for ecommerce, OMS, payments, CDP, loyalty, and more, while mentoring a team of architects and engineers. A strong MACH focus and AWS experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 8+ years of enterprise or solution architecture experience in retail or consumer goods.
• 3+ years architecting AI/ML solutions with generative AI and LLMs.
• MACH and composable commerce experience with microservices and cloud-native environments.
• Experience leading large transformation programs in commerce and AI adoption.
• Global product experience with regional strategies.
• Knowledge of multi-cloud (AWS) security and scalability.
• Familiarity with data governance and enterprise systems like Oracle EBS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and articulate enterprise-wide architectural vision for DTC and AI.
• Define architecture governance policies across brands and regions.
• Create multiyear DTC/AI architecture roadmap with milestones and ownership.
• Own target architecture for DTC landscape across ecommerce, OMS, payments, CDP, loyalty, content, search, and personalization.
• Champion MACH to enable flexible, composable commerce.
• Drive modernization of legacy systems to cloud-native, API-driven architectures.
• Define enterprise AI reference architecture including model access, orchestration, and guardrails.
• Establish responsible-AI controls including bias, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Define API-first and event-driven integration patterns across platforms.
• Oversee data architecture and governance for DTC and AI initiatives.
• Collaborate with executives to prioritize strategic architectural initiatives.
• Lead and mentor architects, engineers, and AI practitioners.
• Define and track KPIs for architecture initiatives and monitor tech trends.
