Job summary

Omada Health is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to own a significant piece of the Co-Intelligent Coaching platform. You’ll decide what gets built, in what order, and how teams grow, staying close to code, production workflows, and incident response.

A squad owns problems from prototype to production, with on‑call rotation. You’ll partner with Product Strategists to align scope, cost, and delivery cadence, shaping the roadmap with strategic input.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, including 4+ years managing engineers directly.
• Experience developing another leader: a manager who reported to you, or an engineer you grew into a tech lead or EM role with real accountability attached.
• Track record shipping mission‑critical software to production, and living with it afterwards.
• Experience owning prioritization and estimation for a team, including saying no, not now, and explaining why.
• Experience giving direct developmental feedback, and at least one case where you managed someone through underperformance with real support attached.
• Currently shipping, or recently shipping, production code in at least one layer of our stack (backend, web frontend, iOS, Android) with enough range to follow the conversation in the others.
• Comfort with an expert‑generalist team model, where a backend‑heavy builder ships in the mobile app and a mobile‑heavy one ships in the backend.
• Hands‑on experience directing AI agents through real world production changes, and a considered view on where they help and where they produce work someone else has to redo.
• Understanding of CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and telemetry, at the level where you can tell whether your squad's operational story checks out or falls short.
• Excellent written communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the member experience that runs around the clock. AI handles the moments between sessions: goal setting, food guidance, daily reflection.
• Own delivery across your squads. Sprint shaping, prioritization, backlog grooming, and estimation.
• Own cycle time. Improve it without sacrificing quality and explain changes.
• Stay technical. Review architecture and be useful in incidents, even when you manage through others.
• Partner with your Product Strategist to align scope and delivery.
• Grow a manager. If an EM reports to you, their growth is your work product.
• Plan headcount and onboarding to scale a codebase in an agent-heavy environment.
• Set AI standards beyond your own boundary and mentor others to navigate the system.
• Tackle problems nobody owns, coordinating with peers to finish critical work.
