Job summary

Omada Health is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to expand our care footprint. You’ll own end-to-end architecture for member- and care team-facing experiences, primarily backend but comfortable across the stack.

You’ll mentor engineers, set quality standards, and drive shipping of reliable systems that impact chronic disease care. You’ll work with empathy, design solutions with stakeholders, and apply modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience writing readable, tested, and efficient code.
• Polyglot builder mindset: strong in at least one backend language and able to move across the stack.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with a relational database (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable and secure APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with LLMs and GenAI best practices.
• Proven AI-assisted development workflows for shipping resilient products.
• Cloud familiarity (AWS preferred) and deployment tools (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Understanding of logging, monitoring and telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, clinical, and cross-functional teams to turn vision into shipped product.
• Own architecture and technical direction end to end for new member- and care team-facing experiences.
• Apply broad technical judgment across languages, frameworks, and systems to guide delivery.
• Set the quality bar: clean, well-tested, scalable code.
• Lead and mentor engineers, remove ambiguity, ship fast.
• Define 6–12 month technical direction and spot high-value work before it lands on the roadmap.
