Job summary

Franklin Energy seeks a field-based Energy Efficiency Advisor to serve homeowners, landlords, building owners and utility customers, providing expert guidance and coordinating energy-saving projects in a mix of field and office days.

You will promote the energy efficiency program, handle customer outreach, and assist with rebate applications while collaborating with trade allies to identify on-site opportunities and report findings to the Program Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; technical school considered.
• 3–5 years of experience in electric or natural gas utility industry, facilities management, HVAC design or sales, commercial and industrial lighting, conservation and energy management, or related experience.
• 2–3 years of experience in energy efficiency and/or energy modeling.
• Previous customer service, sales, or marketing experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct installation of energy saving products as directed by program management.
• Adhere to safety requirements of the organization and utility client.
• Promote the energy efficiency program to customers, trade allies and program stakeholders within your assigned territory.
• Make outbound calls to existing customers to meet energy saving targets; initiate new business with new customers; manage field time with customers and stakeholders; develop and deliver presentations.
• Work with utility customers to provide energy efficiency and business activities of its customers.
• Identify on-site opportunities and provide written reports for energy efficiency to customers and client/Program Manager; provide follow-up as required.
• Discuss technical elements of energy consuming equipment (lighting, HVAC, hot water, insulation, air sealing).
• Enter data into spreadsheets/databases to determine energy savings and manage current projects; collaborate with Energy Engineers as required.
• Lead presentations promoting energy efficiency programs for targeted groups; assist customers through rebate applications.
