Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Electrical SME to shape electrical infrastructure strategy for hyperscale data centers, covering MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and redundancy planning through interconnection to IT equipment receptacles.

The role blends senior engineering leadership with client-facing delivery, governance of calculations and drawings, and mentorship across teams, with travel up to 10–15% and active participation in IEEE, NFPA, and Uptime Institute activities.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree.
• Active Electrical PE licensure in at least one U.S. state.
• 20+ years in electrical engineering with data center focus.
• Expertise in MV/LV distribution, UPS, generator paralleling, and redundancy.
• Proficient with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower and related studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients.
• Drive power chain from MV switchgear to IT receptacles.
• Perform short-circuit, coordination and arc flash analyses.
• Govern electrical deliverables, support commissioning and IST.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to industry standards.
