Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME to define and lead electrical infrastructure strategies for hyperscale data centers. You will shape MV/LV distribution, redundancy, and interconnection approaches from utility to IT equipment receptacle, guiding design, analysis, and governance across multiple projects.

The role blends deep power systems expertise with client-facing leadership, mentoring of engineers, and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver reliable, efficient and safe critical power

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Master's preferred).
• PE license active in at least one U.S. state; NCEES record for reciprocal licensure.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in mission-critical data centers or equivalent.
• Expertise in MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, transfer switching, and redundancy for Tier III/IV facilities.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower; arc-flash analysis per IEEE 1584; load-flow modeling.
• Code knowledge: NEC/NFPA/IEEE standards; familiarity with design-build/ EPCM delivery.
• Tools: AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP; BIM/CDE workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients; define MV/LV distribution and redundancy strategies.
• Direct full power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generator paralleling, and busway; oversee studies.
• Develop Jacobs' electrical standards, master specs, and calculation libraries for data centers.
• Provide governance for electrical deliverables; support commissioning and IST of critical power systems.
