Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME to shape electrical infrastructure strategy for hyperscale data center programs, covering MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and arc-flash safety. You will lead power systems studies, standards development, and design governance across multi-disciplinary teams.

This role blends deep power systems expertise with client-facing leadership, mentoring, and industry engagement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
PE License required and active in at least one U.S. state.
20+ years professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in mission-critical data center design.
Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower for power studies.
Experience with NEC/NFPA, IEEE standards and design-build / EPCM delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients; define MV/LV distribution and redundancy strategies.
Oversee power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generators, transfer switches, PDUs, and busway; conduct power studies.
Govern electrical deliverables for quality and code compliance; support commissioning and IST of critical power systems.
Represent Jacobs in client workshops, proposals, and industry forums; drive technical differentiation for data center programs.
Mentor engineers and maintain reusable calculation libraries and reference designs.
