Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Electrical SME to define electrical infrastructure strategy for hyperscale data centers, from utility interconnection to IT equipment receptacles. The role blends deep power systems expertise with client leadership and mentorship across complex programs.

You will drive MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and arc flash safety, while shaping Jacobs' standards and technical governance. Hybrid travel to projects is expected.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree; master's preferred.
• Active Electrical PE licensure in at least one state; reciprocity required.
• 20+ years of electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in data centers.
• Expert in MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, and redundancy.
• Proficient with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower for short-circuit and coordination studies.
• Familiar with NEC, NFPA 70/110/72, IEEE 3000-series, NESC, IEC, and Uptime.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, Bluebeam, BIM 360.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients and MV/LV architecture.
• Oversee power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generators, and busways.
• Conduct studies: short-circuit, protective coordination, arc flash per IEEE 1584.
• Develop standards and calculation libraries for data center practice.
• Provide governance across disciplines and support commissioning and IST.
