Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Subject Matter Expert to lead power systems for hyperscale and mission-critical data centers. You will shape MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, and generator paralleling from utility interconnection to IT receptacles, guiding teams and clients with technical authority.

Ideal candidates bring 20+ years in electrical engineering, PE licensure, and strong experience with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower, AutoCAD Electrical, and Revit MEP.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• 15+ years focused on mission-critical data center or advanced technology facility design.
• Proven expertise in MV/LV distribution design, UPS topology, generator paralleling, transfer switching, and redundancy architecture.
• Experience with short-circuit studies, protective device coordination, arc flash analysis, and load flow modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients — defining MV/LV distribution architecture.
• Drive the full power chain from MV switchgear through UPS, generator paralleling, transfer switching, PDUs, and busway.
• Champion innovation in power efficiency, BESS integration, renewables, and AI/GPU power density scaling.
• Provide technical governance across discipline teams and partners; review calculations, drawings, and submittals.
