Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME to lead power systems for hyperscale data centers, from MV/LV distribution to UPS topology and generator paralleling. You will shape electrical strategy across utility interconnection to IT equipment, while mentoring teams and guiding IST, design-build, and EPCM projects.

The role demands 20+ years in electrical engineering, a current PE license, and hands-on experience with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower, AutoCAD Electrical, and Revit MEP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; PE licensure required.
• 20+ years in professional electrical engineering, with 15+ years in mission-critical data centers or similar facilities.
• Proficiency with MV/LV distribution design and UPS topology.
• Experience with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower and load-flow studies.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70/110/72, IEEE 3000-series, and Uptime Institute criteria.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients, defining distribution architecture and redundancy.
• Oversee power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generators, transfer switches, and busways.
• Perform short-circuit studies, coordination, arc flash analysis, and load-flow modeling.
• Provide governance over drawings, calculations, and submittals; support commissioning and IST for critical power systems.
• Present to clients and contribute to technical bids and proposals.
