Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior Electrical Power Systems SME to shape electrical infrastructure for hyperscale data centers, guiding MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, and generator paralleling from utility interconnection to IT equipment receptacle.

You will mentor teams, define Jacobs' electrical standards, and lead technical governance across multi-discipline projects while engaging with clients and industry forums.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Active Electrical PE licensure in at least one U.S. state.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• 15+ years focused on mission-critical data center or advanced technology facility design.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients and define MV/LV distribution architecture.
• Oversee power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generator paralleling, and transfer switching; review calculations and submittals.
• Provide technical governance across discipline teams and partners; support commissioning and IST for critical power systems.
• Present at client workshops and industry forums; contribute to RFP responses and technical differentiators.
• Mentor engineers; develop reusable calculation packages and reference designs.
