Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Electrical SME to lead power systems for hyperscale data center programs, shaping architecture from utility interconnection to IT equipment receptacles and ensuring reliability and sustainability.

You will mentor engineers, influence project delivery, and represent Jacobs in client workshops and industry forums while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program; Master’s degree preferred.
• Active Electrical PE licensure in at least one U.S. state; licensure required.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in mission-critical data centers.
• Proven expertise in MV/LV distribution design, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and redundancy architecture.
• Experience with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower for short-circuit, coordination, arc-flash, and load-flow studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients and define MV/LV distribution architecture.
• Drive the full power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generator paralleling, and transfer switching.
• Provide technical governance across teams, review calculations, drawings, and submittals for quality and NEC/NFPA compliance.
• Support commissioning and IST of critical power systems in large-scale programs.
