Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME to lead power systems design for hyperscale data center programs and mentor delivery teams nationwide.

You will shape electrical infrastructure strategy from utility interconnection through IT equipment receptacle, including MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and arc-flash compliance while coordinating with design-build and EPCM structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program; Master’s degree preferred.
• PE License (Required): Active Electrical PE in at least one U.S. state with NCEES record.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in mission-critical data centers or advanced facilities.
• Proven expertise in MV/LV distribution design, UPS topology, generator sizing/paralleling, and redundancy architecture.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower for short-circuit studies, arc flash, and load-flow modeling.
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA/IEEE/NESC/ IEC standards and Uptime Institute tiers.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, Bluebeam, BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning with hyperscale clients and define MV/LV distribution architectures.
• Drive the full power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generators, transfer switches, and busway.
• Provide technical governance across disciplines and support commissioning and IST of critical power systems.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to standards, and participate in external industry groups.
