Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a seasoned Electrical SME to shape electrical infrastructure strategy for hyperscale data center programs, from utility interconnection to IT receptacles. You will lead design, studies, and governance while mentoring teams and aligning with industry standards.

You will influence project delivery, engage with clients, and drive innovation in BESS, renewables, and AI-driven power density. Hybrid office presence supports collaboration and field engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; ABET-accredited program.
• Active Electrical PE licensure in at least one U.S. state.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• 15+ years focused on mission-critical data center or advanced technology facility design.
• Power systems experience with MV/LV distribution, UPS, generator paralleling, transfer switching, and redundancy architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients.
• Conduct power systems studies including short-circuit analysis and arc flash per IEEE 1584.
• Present at client workshops and contribute to RFP responses.
• Mentor electrical engineers; develop reusable calculation packages and reference designs.
• Ensure NEC/NFPA, IEEE 3000-series, NESC, IEC standards compliance across projects.
