Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME to shape electrical infrastructure strategy for hyperscale data centers, from utility interconnection to IT receptacles. You will lead design, studies, and governance across teams, mentoring engineers and guiding technical standards.

You will engage with clients, contribute to proposals, and support commissioning for critical power systems. Hybrid office-based role with travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (ABET-accredited).
• PE license active in at least one US state is required; recertification via NCEES for reciprocal licensure.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in mission-critical data center or advanced tech facility design.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients, defining MV/LV distribution and redundancies.
• Manage power chain from MV switchgear through UPS, generator paralleling, transfer switching, and PDUs.
• Provide technical governance across discipline teams, review calculations and submittals for code compliance.
• Represent Jacobs in external forums and contribute to industry standards.
