Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME to shape electrical infrastructure strategy for hyperscale data center programs, from utility interconnection to IT receptacles, including MV/LV distribution, UPS, and generator paralleling.

You will lead design, governance, and mentorship across discipline teams, engaging with clients and industry groups to translate complex power engineering into actionable outcomes.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree (Bachelor's) required.
• PE license active in at least one U.S. state; licensure required for employment.
• 15+ years focused on mission-critical data center or advanced technology facility design.
• Experience with MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and transfer switching.
• Proficiency with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower for power studies and arc flash analysis.
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA, IEEE 3000-series, and Uptime Institute criteria.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and Revit MEP for design-build projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients and define MV/LV distribution architecture.
• Oversee power chain from MV switchgear to UPS and generator paralleling; perform studies.
• Develop Jacobs electrical standards and calculation libraries for data centers.
• Provide governance across teams and support commissioning of critical power systems.
• Represent Jacobs in client workshops, AFCOM, Uptime Institute, IEEE; contribute to proposals.
