Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Electrical SME to shape electrical infrastructure strategy for hyperscale data centers from utility interconnection through IT equipment receptacles. You will lead MV/LV distribution, UPS, generator paralleling, and arc-flash compliant designs while mentoring teams across a portfolio of mission-critical programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program (Master's preferred).
• PE license active in at least one U.S. state; NCEES record for reciprocity.
• 20+ years professional electrical engineering; 15+ years in mission-critical data center design.
• Expertise in MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, transfer switching, redundancy.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower; arc flash analysis per IEEE 1584.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients and define MV/LV distribution architecture.
• Oversee power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generator paralleling, transfer switching, and busway; perform studies.
• Provide governance for calculations, drawings, and submittals; support commissioning and IST for critical power systems.
• Present at client workshops and industry forums; participate in RFPs with clear power systems narratives.
• Mentor engineers; develop reusable calculation packages and reference designs; contribute to standards.
