Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Chicago offers a leadership role directing electrical engineering teams on projects supporting nuclear materials processing, waste treatment, and power plants. Responsibilities include design, modification, and analysis of electrical systems, with emphasis on compliance to specifications and client requirements.

The position requires a U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain security clearances, and a drive to pursue PE licensure.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.

Responsibilities

• Lead Electrical team in detailed design phases for electrical engineering work.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Prepare and review electrical calculations (arc flash, voltage drop, fault current, lighting).
• Prepare documentation for design input including master diagrams and master schematics.
• Interface with vendors to prepare material and equipment purchase specifications.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information per client and S&L formats.
• Perform independent reviews of work including calculations and drawings.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and share knowledge through Communities of Practice.
