Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Team Lead to direct the design, modification, and analysis of electrical systems for nuclear materials processing, waste treatment, and power plants. The role covers detailed design coordination, calculations, and client-focused documentation.

You will guide a team of engineers and designers, ensuring technical excellence while navigating schedule and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• BSEE degree from ABET-accredited program; MSEE preferred.
• P.E. licensure desired.
• Must be able to obtain a DOE “Q” level clearance.
• 15+ years in electrical engineering design for power, DOE, nuclear, or related fields.
• 5+ years leading an engineering design team.

Responsibilities

• Act as Electrical team lead for detailed design phases of electrical engineering work.
• Lead to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specs, codes, and client requirements.
• Prepare and review electrical calculations (arc flash, voltage drop, fault current, lighting).
• Prepare documentation for design input, master diagrams, and master schematics.
• Interface with vendors to prepare material and equipment purchase specifications.
• Prepare reports/studies presenting technical information per client and S&L formats.
• Perform independent reviews of others’ work, including calculations and drawings.
• Mentor and develop less experienced engineers; share knowledge through Communities of Practice.
