Job summary

Sargent & Lundy conducts critical electrical engineering work for nuclear material processing, waste treatment, and power plants in a hybrid work setting. The Electrical Team Lead will guide engineers and designers through detailed design, calculations, and drawings while ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.

Responsibilities include project leadership, vendor coordination, and mentoring junior staff, all within S&L’s process framework and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• ABET-accredited BSEE degree required; MSEE preferred.
• Must be able and willing to obtain P.E. licensure.
• Must be able to obtain a DOE “Q” level clearance.
• 15+ years of experience in electrical design of systems for power/DOE/nuclear projects.
• 5+ years leading an engineering design team.
• Experience with LV distribution, transformers, generators, motors, comms, and analytical calculations.
• Experience serving as firm/client liaison.
• Experience reviewing design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Act as Electrical team lead coordinating detailed design phases.
• Lead projects to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specs, codes, and client requirements.
• Prepare and review electrical calculations (arc flash, voltage drop, fault current, lighting).
• Prepare doc input for drawings including master diagrams and schematics.
• Interface with vendors for materials/equipment specifications.
• Prepare reports presenting technical information.
• Perform independent reviews of others’ work.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and share knowledge.
