Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Electrical Team Lead to drive design and analysis of electrical systems for nuclear materials processing, waste treatment, and power facilities. You will mentor engineers, coordinate with clients, and ensure compliance with codes and project specifications.

The role requires a strong background in electrical design, security clearances, and PTO/leadership capabilities, with opportunities to work on challenging, mission-critical projects within a hybrid

Qualifications

• Must obtain US Government security clearance.
• ABET-accredited BSEE degree required; MSEE preferred.
• Must be able and have a desire to obtain P.E. licensure.
• Must be able to obtain a DOE “Q” level clearance.
• 12+ years of experience in electrical engineering design for power/nuclear projects.
• 3+ years of experience leading an engineering design team.
• Experience in serving as firm/client liaison and reviewing design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Electrical team lead in coordinating detailed design phases for all electrical engineering work.
• Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
• Coordinate systems design activities to comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Prepare and review detailed electrical calculations (arc flash, voltage drop, fault current, lighting).
• Prepare documentation for design input for drawing production (master diagrams, master schematics).
• Interface with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information per client and S&L formats.
• Perform independent reviews of work including calculations and drawings.
• Develop career via peer-learning through S&L Communities of Practice.
• Provide guidance as a mentor to less experienced engineers.
