Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to act as a technical authority for electrical infrastructure supporting hyperscale, colocation, AI/HPC, and mission-critical facilities.

You will guide architectural decisions from utility interconnection to IT load, providing mentorship and client guidance across global delivery teams, while balancing reliability, cost, and energy performance.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
• PE License required; active in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; NCEES record preferred.
• 15–20+ years in electrical engineering with data centers or high-reliability facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture decisions from utility service to IT load, shaping the design basis.
• Provide senior technical leadership for MV/LV distribution, substations, switchgear, and UPS systems.
• Review and approve calculations, drawings, and equipment selections across projects.
• Support from conceptual planning through procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
