Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to serve as the technical authority for electrical infrastructure supporting hyperscale, colocation, AI/HPC, and other mission-critical facilities in the United States.

You will shape electrical strategy from utility interconnection through the IT load, provide design governance, and mentor multidisciplinary teams while delivering projects across global delivery resources.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program; PE license required.
15–20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience with data centers or mission-critical facilities.
Active Electrical PE license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; NCEES record preferred.
Experience with MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS, and critical power systems.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical architecture from utility interconnection to IT load and provide technical direction.
Provide senior leadership for MV/LV distribution, substations, switchgear, and paralleling.
Perform or review power studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, protection coordination).
Ensure design governance, independent review, and technical mentorship across projects.
Support project delivery from concept through commissioning and turnover.
