Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to act as a senior technical authority for electrical infrastructure in hyperscale, colocation, AI/HPC, and mission-critical facilities. You will shape electrical strategy from utility interconnection through IT load, offering technical direction and client guidance.

You will lead MV/LV distribution, transformer plants, UPS, and related systems, with deep experience in power studies and design governance, while mentoring teams and expanding

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSEE required; MS preferred.
• Active Electrical PE license in at least one US jurisdiction.
• 15–20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Advanced expertise in MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generator plants and paralleling, UPS.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower for studies.
• Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA standards.
• Proven leadership and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Electrical Architecture Lead: Basis of Design, system architecture, major decisions from utility to IT load.
• Lead/review MV/LV distribution, substations, switchgear, generator plants, UPS, PDUs, busways, grounding.
• Conduct/provide power studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash) using ETAP/SKM/EasyPower.
• Provide independent design governance and reviews across projects.
• Oversee project delivery from concept through commissioning and turnover.
• Support FAT/SAT, startup, commissioning of critical electrical infrastructure.
• Advise on AI/HPC electrical strategies and emerging energy options.
• Develop standards and governance programs; mentor engineers.
