Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer – Subject Matter Expert to act as a technical authority for electrical infrastructure supporting hyperscale and mission-critical facilities. You will shape electrical strategy from utility interconnection through IT load, with leadership in critical power systems and client guidance.

You will mentor engineers, review designs, and contribute to governance across global delivery, while advancing AI/HPC power strategies and emerging energy solutions.

Qualifications

• PE license required in at least one US jurisdiction.
• 15–20+ years of electrical engineering experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 110, IEEE standards.
• Experience with MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS, and power distribution.
• Ability to lead and mentor teams and communicate with clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture from utility interconnection through IT load.
• Provide senior leadership for MV/LV distribution, substations, transformers, and UPS systems.
• Lead or review power studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash).
• Provide independent design governance and reviews.
• Support project delivery through procurement, construction, commissioning and turnover.
• Advise on AI/HPC power strategies and emerging energy solutions.
• Engage in client workshops, design reviews, and proposals.
