Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to act as a senior technical authority for electrical infrastructure supporting hyperscale and mission-critical facilities across the United States. You will shape the electrical strategy from utility interconnection through IT load, providing direction, reviews, and mentorship.

You will lead architecture, MV/LV distribution, and critical power systems while guiding projects through design governance, commissioning, and client engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• PE License required; active in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 15–20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Experience with data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Electrical Architecture leadership across utility service through IT load.
• Lead/oversee MV/LV distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, UPS, transfer schemes.
• Perform/oversee power studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash).
• Provide technical governance and independent design reviews.
• Support project delivery from conception to turnover; RFIs and changes.
• Support FAT/SAT, commissioning of critical-power systems; drive technical leadership.
