Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to act as a technical authority for electrical infrastructure supporting hyperscale and mission-critical facilities. You will shape electrical strategy from utility interconnection to IT load, providing direction, reviews, and mentorship.

Responsibilities include leading MV/LV distribution design, coordinating power studies, and driving technical governance across global teams. Hybrid, full-time role with strong client interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program; Master's degree preferred.
• PE license active in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; ability to obtain additional licenses.
• 15–20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience in data centers or high-reliability facilities.
• Advanced expertise in MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, UPS, and critical power.
• Experience with electrical studies (short-circuit, load-flow, arc-flash) using ETAP/SKM/EasyPower or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture decisions from utility interconnection through IT load.
• Provide senior technical leadership for critical power systems and high-density environments.
• Review calculations, drawings, and design packages; govern design quality across teams.
• Engage across project lifecycle: concept through commissioning and turnover.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to standards and governance.
