Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to act as a technical authority for electrical infrastructure supporting hyperscale and mission-critical facilities across the United States. You will shape electrical strategy from utility interconnection through the IT load, while guiding teams and mentoring engineers.

You’ll lead MV/LV distribution, switching, transformers, UPS, and power studies, partnering with clients to deliver high-reliability solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program; Master’s preferred.
PE license active in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; ability to obtain additional licenses as required; NCEES record preferred.
Typically 15–20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience with data centers or mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical architecture decisions from utility service through the IT load.
Provide senior leadership for MV/LV distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, and related components.
Review and approve power studies using ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower.
Support project delivery through procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover; handle RFIs and design changes.
Provide FAT/SAT support and mentor junior engineers.
Engage with clients, reviews, and technical governance to ensure quality and delivery velocity.
