Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Electrical Subject Matter Expert for hyperscale data center programs across the U.S. You will shape electrical infrastructure strategies from utility interconnection to IT receptacles, including MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, and generator paralleling.

You will lead technical governance, mentor engineers, and engage with clients and industry forums to articulate Jacobs' value in power systems and sustainability. Hybrid work with travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program; Master’s degree preferred.
• PE License active in at least one U.S. state; necessary to be considered for employment.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in mission-critical data center or advanced technology facility design.
• Proven expertise in MV/LV distribution design, UPS topology, generator sizing and paralleling, transfer switching, and redundancy architecture.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower; short-circuit studies, arc flash analysis, and load flow modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients—define MV/LV distribution and redundancy strategies.
• Drive the full power chain from medium-voltage switchgear through UPS, generator paralleling, and busway.
• Provide technical governance across discipline teams; review calculations, drawings, and submittals for code compliance.
• Mentor electrical engineers; develop reusable calculation packages and reference designs for data center delivery.
• Represent Jacobs in industry forums and client workshops; contribute to RFPs and technology differentiation.
