Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Subject Matter Expert to lead power systems for hyperscale and mission-critical data center programs. You will architect MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and redundancy strategies, while guiding multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with clients.

The role emphasizes technical governance, mentorship, and participation in standards development and industry forums, with a hybrid work model in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Active Electrical PE licensure in at least one U.S. state.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering; 15+ years in mission-critical data center design.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower for power studies.
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA/IEEE/NESC/IEC and Uptime Institute criteria.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale data centers—MV/LV design and redundancy.
• Drive full power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generator paralleling, and transfer switching.
• Provide technical governance across discipline teams and submittals for code compliance.
• Mentor engineers, develop reusable calculation packages, and contribute to standards.
