Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME for hyperscale and mission-critical data center programs. You will shape electrical infrastructure strategy from utility interconnection to IT receptacles, covering MV/LV distribution, UPS, generator paralleling, switchgear, and arc flash safety.

You will lead technical governance across disciplines, mentor teams, and engage with clients, industry bodies, and EPCM delivery structures. Hybrid work with travel expectations.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree required.
• Active Electrical PE licensure in at least one U.S. state; PE is a condition of employment.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in mission-critical data centers or similar facilities.
• Proven expertise in MV/LV distribution design, UPS topology, generator sizing/paralleling, transfer switching, and redundancy architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients and define distribution architectures.
• Perform power systems studies: short-circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis, load flow modeling.
• Develop Jacobs' electrical standards, master specs, and calculation libraries for data center practice.
• Provide governance over calculations, drawings, submittals, and support commissioning and IST of critical power systems.
• Mentor engineers and participate in IEEE NFPA and Uptime Institute activities.
