Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior electrical engineering leader to shape electrical infrastructure strategy for hyperscale data center programs, from utility interconnection to IT equipment receptacle. You will mentor teams, define standards, and drive power system design across multiple client engagements.

This role emphasizes strategic development, design‑build delivery, and collaboration with GID partners. Expect travel to project sites and active engagement in industry forums to advance data center

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET‑accredited program (Master's preferred).
• PE license active in at least one US state; NCEES for reciprocal licensure.
• 20+ years professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in data center/critical facilities design.
• Proven expertise in MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, transfer switching, and redundancy architecture.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower; arc flash analysis per IEEE 1584; load flow modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients with MV/LV distribution architecture and redundancy strategies.
• Drive the full power chain from MV switchgear through UPS, generator paralleling, transfer switching, PDUs and busway; conduct power systems studies.
• Champion innovation in power efficiency, BESS integration, renewables, and AI/GPU density scaling; maintain electrical standards and calculation libraries.
• Provide technical governance across disciplines, review calculations, drawings and submittals for quality and code compliance; support commissioning and IST of critical power systems.
