Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Electrical SME to lead power systems design for hyperscale data center programs from utility interconnection through IT equipment receptacle, ensuring reliability and code compliance.

You will mentor engineers, review calculations and drawings, and contribute to industry forums while guiding pursuits with technical differentiation. Travel up to 10–15% with hybrid office/field work.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
• Active Electrical PE licensure in at least one US state is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients, defining MV/LV distribution and redundancy.
• Oversee power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generator, transfer switching, PDUs, busways.
• Provide technical governance across teams and support commissioning of critical power systems.
• Present at client workshops and industry forums; contribute to proposals and thought leadership.
