Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to serve as a senior technical authority for electrical infrastructure supporting hyperscale, colocation, and mission-critical facilities. You will shape electrical strategy from utility interconnection through IT load, delivering technical direction and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Master’s preferred).
• PE License (Required) Active Electrical PE in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; NCEES record preferred.
• 15–20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Advanced expertise in MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generator plants and paralleling, UPS, and distribution.
• Experience with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower or equivalent for power studies.
• Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 110, IEEE 1584, IEEE 3000-series.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture and major technical decisions from utility service through IT load.
• Provide senior technical leadership for critical power systems and distribution.
• Lead or review power studies (short-circuit, load-flow, arc-flash).
• Provide independent design governance and cross-team reviews.
• Oversee project execution from concept to turnover, RFIs, and changes.
• Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and integrated tests of critical infrastructure.
