Job summary

Vantage Data Centers seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for large-scale data center projects. You will drive innovative solutions, balance CAPEX and OPEX, and collaborate with Sales, Procurement, and Site Operations to deliver dependable facilities.

You will guide design teams, ensure adherence to standards, and participate in value engineering analyses, with travel up to 25% and a flexible hybrid work arrangement across the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineering license in any US state.
• 10+ years design/construction experience; 15+ preferred.
• Working knowledge of critical electrical and cooling infrastructure in data centers.
• Data center design/construction experience; familiarity with NEC, NERC, IEEE, NFPA and local codes.
• Experience with NA construction markets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Navisworks and SCCS modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized electrical engineering expertise influencing strategic direction for new data center projects.
• Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with corporate standards and customer requirements.
• Manage large, complex projects across all phases from conceptual design to commissioning.
• Coordinate with consultants/contractors and ensure milestones are met on time and within budget.
• Support operations by troubleshooting and tuning existing systems for performance.
