Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to act as a technical authority for hyperscale and mission-critical electrical infrastructure. You’ll shape electrical strategy from utility interconnection through IT load and mentor engineers across global projects.

You’ll lead architecture, design governance, risk assessment, and commissioning support while collaborating with clients to deliver reliable, high-density power systems for data centers and advanced manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications

• Education: ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Master's preferred.
• PE License required in at least one US jurisdiction; ability to obtain others.
• Typically 15–20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience in data centers or high-reliability facilities.
• Advanced expertise in MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generator plants and paralleling, UPS, transfer schemes.
• Experience with codes and standards (NEC/NFPA/IEEE) and technical leadership in delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture from utility service to IT load.
• Provide senior leadership for distribution, substations, switchgear, and UPS systems.
• Perform/oversee power studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash) with ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
• Ensure design governance, calculations, drawings, and specs are technically sound.
• Manage project execution from planning through commissioning and turnover.
