Job summary

SSOE Group is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical systems for automotive and industrial facility projects, from concept through commissioning. You will serve as Engineer of Record, directing power distribution, equipment integration, and multidisciplinary coordination to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

You will collaborate with clients, PMs, and engineering teams to manage schedules, budgets, and quality while mentoring junior staff and supporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
  • 8+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting industrial or manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience with automotive, battery manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, consumer products, food & beverage, or similar industries.
  • Strong understanding of facility electrical infrastructure including MV/LV distribution, MCCs, switchgear, and grounding.
  • Experience performing and reviewing electrical studies including load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, and protective-device coordination.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IBC, and applicable industrial design standards.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Strong client-facing communication and project leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of electrical systems for automotive, manufacturing, battery, and industrial facility projects.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record and technical lead on projects of varying complexity and size.
  • Develop electrical power distribution systems from utility service through facility distribution networks.
  • Prepare and review: One-line diagrams, power plans, equipment layouts, cable schedules, electrical room layouts, lighting systems, grounding, load calculations, short-circuit studies.
  • Design medium- and low-voltage power systems supporting industrial processes and facility infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, controls, structural, civil, and architecture teams throughout project development.
  • Support facility expansion, modernization, and greenfield manufacturing projects.
  • Interface with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical recommendations.
