Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical systems design for automotive and industrial facilities, including battery and advanced manufacturing projects. You will serve as Engineer of Record, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
8+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting industrial or manufacturing facilities; 10+ for senior-level consideration.
Demonstrated experience with automotive, battery manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, consumer products, food & beverage, or other industrial facilities.
Strong understanding of facility electrical infrastructure including medium-voltage and low-voltage power systems, MCCs, switchgear, VFDs, grounding, and coordination studies.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and execution of electrical systems for automotive, manufacturing, battery, and industrial facility projects.
Serve as Engineer of Record and technical lead on projects of varying complexity and size.
Develop electrical power distribution systems from utility service through facility distribution networks.
Prepare and review one-line diagrams, power plans, equipment layouts, cable schedules, electrical room layouts, lighting systems, grounding systems, load calculations, and short-circuit/coordination studies.
Design medium- and low-voltage power systems supporting industrial processes and facility infrastructure.
Coordinate with process, mechanical, controls, structural, civil, and architecture teams throughout project development.
Support facility expansion, modernization, and greenfield manufacturing projects.
Interface with clients to understand requirements and provide technical recommendations.
Review vendor documentation and coordinate utility service requirements.
Support equipment procurement, construction activities, startup, and commissioning efforts.
Lead design reviews, quality reviews, and constructability assessments.
Develop project scopes, engineering estimates, schedules, and staffing plans.
Mentor junior engineers and designers; support business development efforts.
