Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer to lead electrical infrastructure strategy for hyperscale data centers from utility interconnection to IT receptacles. You will manage MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and arc flash safety with a focus on reliability and sustainability.

Responsibilities include guiding design-build delivery, mentoring engineers, and representing Jacobs in industry forums.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree; PE license required.
• 20+ years in electrical engineering; 15+ years in mission-critical data centers or advanced facilities.
• Proficiency in MV/LV distribution design, UPS topology, generator paralleling, transfer switching, and redundancy architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients and define MV/LV distribution architecture.
• Oversee power systems studies: short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, load flow modelling.
• Provide technical governance across teams; support commissioning and IST for critical power systems.
• Present at client workshops and industry forums; contribute to RFPs and proposals.
• Mentor engineers; develop reusable calculation packages and reference designs.
