Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME to lead technical power systems for hyperscale data centers and complex facilities. You will shape MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, and interconnection approaches while guiding a multi-disciplinary team.

You will engage clients, drive technical differentiation in proposals, mentor engineers, and contribute to standards and industry forums. Hybrid work supports collaboration across Jacobs offices and project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program; Master’s degree preferred.
• Active PE licensure in at least one U.S. state is required.
• 20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience; 15+ years in mission-critical data center design.
• Proficiency with power systems analysis tools and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE).

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale/data center programs.
• Oversee power chain design from MV/LV distribution through UPS, generators, and switchgear.
• Provide technical governance across disciplines and support IST/commissioning of critical power systems.
• Represent Jacobs in industry forums and client workshops.
