Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to actively support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level.

You will monitor safety conditions, assist with investigations, conduct site-specific orientations, and deliver safety training with emphasis on OSHA standards and incident prevention. This role requires a BA/BS and at least 3 years in construction safety and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with at least 3 years in construction or industrial safety.
• Practical knowledge of construction safety; ongoing education in ESH fields.
• OSHA 510 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry certificate.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED with completion within the last two years.
• Completed OSHA 30-hour Training for Construction and STS certification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with diverse teams.
• Proficient in English communication (verbal and written).
• Commitment to continuous learning and core ESH competencies.

Responsibilities

• Champions safety by delivering predictable outcomes for internal and external teams.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA and Layton Construction standards and policies at the site level.
• Assists ESH Manager in accident investigations and data collection.
• Monitors workers’ compensation issues and reports timely information.
• Conducts site-specific safety orientations and pre-construction safety meetings.
• Provides safety training to employees and subcontractor personnel on site.
• Supports VP-Field Operations and HR on legal compliance (FMLA, ADA, WC).
• Performs other safety-related duties as assigned.
