Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, health and safety with 8+ years of related experience.
• 2+ years of team management or project leadership experience required.
• Experience handling multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
• Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and on-call status.
• Occasional travel to support sites and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EHS programs and management systems for the location.
• Lead the EHS team through delegation, policy administration and development.
• Ensure training complies with regulatory and Smithfield EHS systems.
• Submit regulatory reports and develop EHS performance metrics.
• Maintain KPIs and communicate action plans to the team.
• Investigate incidents and drive continuous improvement of processes.
