Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Denison, IA is seeking a Senior EHS Manager to lead Environmental, Health and Safety programs across the site, ensuring regulatory compliance, accident prevention, and continuous improvement. You will oversee the EHS team, coordinate with site and corporate leaders, and drive injury prevention and environmental stewardship in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health and safety or related field.
• 8+ years related experience; 2+ years in team management/development or project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and management systems for the location.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with regulations and company standards; coordinate with site and corporate management for Site Security Plan; drive continuous improvement of EHS processes.
• Lead and manage the EHS team through policy administration, planning, and follow-up.
• Oversee training as required by regulatory and Smithfield EHS systems.
• Ensure timely regulatory reporting and maintain ISO EHS conformance; develop EHS metrics and reports.
• Maintain KPIs and communicate action plans to the team based on results.
• Lead investigations and implement corrective actions for continuous process improvement.
