Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Monmouth, IL is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to oversee the EHS department across regulatory requirements, worker safety, environmental compliance, PSM, RMP, and EMS initiatives. You will lead the implementation of the Injury Prevention System and ensure training and reporting meet ISO EHS standards.

You will manage the EHS team, drive continuous improvement, coordinate with site and corporate leadership, and travel occasionally to support safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS field and 8+ years experience; or equivalent.
• 2+ years in team management or project leadership required.
• Experience with wastewater operations and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and management systems for the location.
• Manage EHS team through delegation and development.
• Ensure training is conducted as required by regulatory and Smithfield EHS systems.
• Submit regulatory reports and track performance metrics.
• Develop KPI reports and ensure conformance to EHS requirements.
• Lead investigations and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
