Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Senior EHS Manager to oversee the Environmental, Health, and Safety department at our Monmouth location. You will lead regulatory compliance for worker safety, environmental programs, PSM, RMP, and EMS, guiding implementation of Injury Prevention System and training initiatives.

You will build and mentor the EHS team, manage reporting, drive continuous improvement, and ensure timely regulatory submissions while sustaining a safe, compliant site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health and safety field with 8+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management or project leadership.
• Experience handling multiple assignments, meeting deadlines, and on-call status as needed.
• Strong knowledge of wastewater operations, regulatory programs, environmental regulations, OSHA, PSM, and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Manage Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and systems for the site and coordinate with management for continuous improvement.
• Lead and develop the EHS team through policy administration, planning, and follow-up.
• Ensure training compliance and effective documentation for regulatory requirements and EMS/ISO programs.
• Investigate issues, implement corrective actions, and drive KPI improvements.
