Job summary

SIXT seeks an Environmental Health and Safety leader to build and own the U.S. EHS program, partnering with leaders across the organization to drive safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

You will influence across branches, manage the workers’ compensation program, and align with group standards while advancing ESG reporting and readiness. You will develop robust emergency plans, deliver a training matrix with high completion rates, and ensure compliance for automotive and fleet

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive EHS experience with 3+ years owning multi-site programs.
• Deep knowledge of 29 CFR 1910, OSHA recordkeeping, multi-state/state-plan compliance.
• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, or related field; CSP/ASP preferred; CHMM/CIH a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and own SIXT US EHS management system with written programs, policies, and standards for branches, service bays, and fueling/detailing operations.
• Ensure OSHA and state-plan compliance across all U.S. locations, manage recordkeeping and environmental compliance.
• Establish technician safety programs including ALI/ANSI lifts, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, PPE, and EV safety.
• Manage workers' compensation with HR and carrier/TPA, including claims reviews and return-to-work coordination.
• Develop site emergency action and disaster plans (hurricane/tornado/wildfire/winter) with drills and continuity planning.
• Deliver safety training matrix with ≥95% completion; run branch safety audits and report EHS KPIs to U.S. leadership.
• Qualify contractors/vendors for on-site safety; align with SIXT SE standards and ESG reporting.
• Resolve EHS measurement planning reviews, compliance monitoring/enforcement, training, and berth analysis for car sharing and fleet units.
