Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder with at least three years of ED coding experience to join our healthcare team. The role focuses on reviewing hospital records, assigning accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, and ensuring compliant reimbursements across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualified candidates will demonstrate strong knowledge of CPT/HCPCS guidelines, experience with denials and documentation reviews, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with clinicians

Qualifications

• 3+ years of ED coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS guidelines.
• Experience with coding edits and denials and documentation review.

Responsibilities

• Apply coding standards to medical record documentation for accurate coding.
• Submit provider queries to resolve documentation discrepancies.
• Perform quality assessment of records and verify documentation.
• Research errors or missing documentation to ensure accurate coding processes.
• Abstract and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for diagnoses and procedures in inpatient/outpatient settings.
