Insight Global is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder with at least three years of ED coding experience to join our healthcare team. The role focuses on reviewing hospital records, assigning accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, and ensuring compliant reimbursements across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualified candidates will demonstrate strong knowledge of CPT/HCPCS guidelines, experience with denials and documentation reviews, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with clinicians

Formación

• 3+ years of ED coding experience.

• Experience with coding edits and denials and documentation review.

• Strong ED Facility and ED Professional Fee (ProFee) coding
• Experience coding inpatient observations.

• Experience working coding edits, denials, and documentation review preferred
• Strong communication skills and professionalism

Job Description

We are seeking Medical with at least three years of experience. The Inpatient Coder will be responsible for reviewing hospital patient medical records and assigning accurate diagnostic or procedural codes (ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRGs) to ensure proper reimbursement, accurate data for reporting, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Apply appropriate coding classification standards and guidelines to medical record documentation for accurate coding.
• Submit necessary provider queries to resolve documentation discrepancies.
• Perform quality assessment of records, including verification of medical record documentation.
• Responsible for researching errors or missing documentation from medical records to provide accurate coding processes.
• Abstracts and assigns the appropriate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for all diagnoses and procedures performed in the outpatient and inpatient settings as applicable.
