Job summary

CGS seeks an experienced Desktop/Workstation Design Engineer to join the Information Technology department in Washington, DC. You will participate in architecture discussions, design planning, and technology roadmap planning for desktop integration efforts.

You will engineer Windows 10 images, manage OS deployment with MECM/MDT, and implement software distribution and patching across desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers, ensuring security and compatibility with enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing desktop OS images for large-scale rollout.
• MS MECM/MDT-based software distribution packaging and deployment workflows.
• Scripting in PowerShell or VBScript to automate desktop tasks and patching.
• Knowledge of security patching, vulnerability management, and auditing on enterprise desktops.
• Experience evaluating and selecting desktop hardware for enterprise deployments.
• Experience with Windows 10 deployment on Intel-based systems integrated with Exchange/Office 2013.
• Networking/VPN remote access (Cisco Secure/ RSA) considerations for remote users.

Responsibilities

• Participate in architecture discussions, system reviews, and design planning for desktop integration efforts.
• Lead or contribute to technology roadmaps for current and future desktop deployments.
• Develop tests and deploy software distribution packages for desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers.
• Provide recommendations to meet user software requirements and ensure security controls.
• Support OS patching infrastructure and automated build processes for desktop images.
• Analyze and recommend hardware for desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers.
