Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks an experienced Desktop/Workstation Design Engineer to shape desktop OS images and deployment strategies within a government-focused IT environment. You will drive image development, tooling, and patching workflows for Windows-based endpoints.

The role emphasizes Windows 10 image engineering, MECM/MDT expertise, security considerations, and collaboration across IT teams to meet user requirements in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing and implementing Desktop OS images for large enterprise deployments.
• Experience provisioning and updating/desploying software via MECM/MDT.
• Experience building and testing software deployment packages for desktops, laptops, tablets and servers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of desktop OS images.
• Engineer large-scale software deployment using MECM/MDT.
• Develop and test software distribution packages for desktops and servers.
• Provide recommendations to meet user software requirements.
• Automate server OS deployment processes.
• Support OS patching infrastructure (BigFix/Windows Update/MECM).
• Evaluate hardware for desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers.
• Perform security-related tasks, including patch management and auditing.
